11 Year Anniversary! Trip to La Jolla

For Christmas Lance's parents gave us a groupon for a 2 day stay in La Jolla and then offered to come out here to watch the girls so we could go! Needless to say we were SUPER excited. We decided to go at the end of January and celebrate a little early. What a great trip! So so relaxing. We really enjoyed exploring La Jolla, going to the San Diego Temple, running together, trying out new restaurants, going to a movie, watching the ocean from our room....such a blast. Thank you to wonderful In-laws.. I think my girls felt like THEY were on vacation too, having Grandma and Grandpa Nelson watching them. They got to see the movie "Frozen", eat at McDonalds, go to the park...what more could you want! :)

The first morning there I had Lance map out a 4 mile run for us. This is the view from the TOP of the route! He thought it would be fun to run to Mount Soledad the highest point in La Jolla. Wow talk about hills! I won't mention how much I may or may not have complained while attempting to run up this little mountain..haha...or how out of shape I was in at the time...but...we made it and breakfast afterward never tasted so good! :)

Macee warmed up to Grandma and Grandpa right away (as soon as they gave her french fries!) and started saying "Grandma", "Grandpa" almost immediately.

The first night we were there we had time to do a session at the San Diego Temple. This was our first time inside and it was AMAZING. More beautiful inside than it is outside.

A nice lady offered to take our picture when she saw us trying to go the Selfie Route. Haha

Our private balcony. :)
So the hotel had a little mix up with our room when we got there (the fridge wasn't working and the repair guy was taking awhile to fix it) so we got upgraded to their primo suite for one of the nights we were there. Had an amazing view!

Loved this!
We sat and watched these Sea Lions for a good half an hour. It was crazy watching the ones in the water try and get up on that rock.

Can't wait for many more anniversaries to come! :)
