Valentines Day February 14th 2015- With the Silvas...our last visit with Miguel
We were thrilled when Lance's sister Leslie called to see if they could come see us for Valentines Day last year. We had already been planning a trip out to Utah to see them as Miguel our brother-in-law, Leslie's husband had recently been diagnosed with cancer, so we decided to cancel the trip and wait for them to come to us! They were really hopeful with the prognosis but he was going to have to have a surgery to remove one of his lungs so they were taking a family cruise before the surgery. We were lucky to get to spend a day with them after the cruise before they headed back to Utah. We didn't know at the time that this would be our last visit with Miguel. They came in Friday night and we left all the kids at home and went out to dinner on the pier with Leslie and Miguel. The next day we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day at the beach. We get some really incredible beach days in the winter here but they can be hit or miss and hard to predict but this particular Saturday after we woke up to an amazing V-Day breakfast of strawberries and cream stuffed french toast cooked by Lance and we took off for one of our favorite beaches and there was hardly a cloud in the sky as we drove out. The temperature was in the 80s and we stayed at the beach until sunset. It really was a perfect day! We will never forget it.
