1st Grade

Getting to ride in Daddy's truck in the morning on the way to school is such a highlight for Mia!

Sad that we are now about half way throught the year and I am just now posting on Mia's first day...but....oh well! :)

Here is my Cute First Grader. I can't believe she is this old. :)

Going from half day Kindergarten to all day first grade felt like just starting over from scratch as far as adjusting to having a child in school. I was so SAD to see her go, but now that we are half way through the year I am so glad that she has the teacher she has who seems to really know and understand her personality and love her for it, that she is enjoying her class, getting time with new and old friends.

I also enjoy the fact that Daddy can now drop her off at school every morning and that I can carpool for pick-up in the afternoon. That makes our schedule much more flexible.

Random last bits of summer

Maddi's picture taking skills!

Mia needed to try out this pose too

Ella discovered this bug one day and was SO excited about it.

Maddi has always wanted glasses since Mia got hers (they ARE an accessory!) and for about a month she would wear this old pair of Mia's around the house. It drover me crazy knowing that she was looking through blurry lenses so we finally decided to just pop the lenses out and she wore them to her heart's content....until they broke...and that was the end of Maddi's glasses.

One of their favorite Summer Time activities is "water day" in the backyard. In our tiny, paved backyard, this means we get out a tiny plastic pool and a few buckets and pails, the girls get in their swim suits and slide down our little slide into the tiny pool and play with water as much as they want getting everything entirely wet. They LOVE it. Her they are in the "hot tub".

Tomatoes!!!

Maddi spending some of her alone time with Mommy rolling out dough.

One of our local farms had an awesome sale on Roma Tomatoes and a friend in my ward offered to give canning lessons to anyone who wanted to try so I jumped at the chance. We had lots of fun picking the tomatoes as a family and it was such a great learning experience canning them. Although I was excited to see the empty boxes when we were done. :)
