Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson

After Macee's Blessing it was great to enjoy a couple days with Lance's parents before they went back home.
 Mia for President! :)

I love this picture but if I remember correctly this was taken just one second before that wave behind them, knocked them ALL over! :)

Macee's Blessing Day

So great to have some of Lance's family with us!

Ella's First Hair Cut

JCPenny was offering free haircuts for kids in the month of August so we took advantage and made appointments for all the girls. Mia and Maddi hadn't had haircuts in long time and Ella has NEVER had one so it was a fun experience. I was really worried that if they cut Ella's hair then her curls would be GONE and as the only curly haired person in the family I am quite attached to her curls! (Can you tell that I'm trying to live vicariously through my child? haha) ;) But the hairdresser did a great job and the curls stayed...yay!

2 Months Old

At two months old Macee weighed 12 pounds at her checkup! And continued to be our sweet, easy-going, happy little baby. We thouroughly enjoyed seeing her smiles and listening to her cooing. She was quite the little talker once she figured out how to make noises. Guess she'll fit in with this gaggle of girls. :) The rolls just kept on coming and we couldn't get enough of them!

Fourth of July

Add caption

So excited to have Daddy back with us after a long week at Scout Camp!

You can tell by those little pink cheeks that THEY enjoyed a few good hours at the pool.

4th of July one of my MOST favorite holidays was somewhat haphazard and less planned than normal. (Having a baby the month before kind of excuses us a bit...right?!!) We enjoyed the ward 4th of July breakfast in the morning...swimming at the pool in the afternoon, and then I think Lance and I were seriously at the store at 4:00 in the evening getting stuff for our little bar-b-que dinner. All went great but Mia was concerned that we didn't have our traditional American Flag themed cake. She expressed this concern AFTER our 4:00 in the evening grocery store run so... she improvised with a few ingredients we suggested to her that we had on hand and she came up with this beautiful American Flag Cake all on her own. I think she had cut up some leftover angel food cake and covered the pan with it, spread whipped cream on the top, and used licorice and chocolate chips for the stars and stripes. Love the Creativity!

 Ready for the Fireworks Show!!!

Hanging out while we wait for the fireworks to start

Macee was amazed/slightly over-stimulated by all the fireworks! Her eyes were huge and unblinking the whole time and then she immediately crashed on the walk home.
I always take a MILLION fireworks shots that never actually look as good as the real deal so I limited myself to just one picture this time. haha...there you have it.
