Lance's Sprint Triathalon

0

A week ago we went down to Indy to watch Lance compete in a Sprint Triathalon (that's a 500 meter swim, 10 mile bike, and a 3 mile run). He and his friend Justin both competed so it was fun to get to watch them both do this! I was a little jealous that I wasn't doing it with him....but maybe next year! He said it was more fun than running the mini-marathon and he wants to do something like this every year. The girls had fun watching for him to come around at each check point and cheering for their Dadddy!

Garage Sale

We had our first Garage Sale a couple weeks ago. We looked outside on a Friday and saw that some of our neighbors were having Garage Sales so we decided it would be free advertising and we set some of our stuff out for half the day on Saturday. It was actually a lot of fun and Mia and a couple friends had fun Selling Lemonade. I felt bad for some of the people because before we could realize what she was doing she would walk up to anyone who walked onto our driveway and ask them if they wanted some lemonade. It's like how do you say no to that. Everyone was really nice to humor her.

Zoo

We have a cute little zoo here in town that we decided to visit for the first time a couple weeks ago. I think the girls had more fun playing with these fun water fountains then actually looking at the animals.

Mini Gymnastics

Mia had an eventful summer doing a few extra curricular things for the first time. At the Gymnastics center in our neighborhood they offered a summer special of half off their Gymnastics classes so I signed Mia up for a session and she had a blast! Here are some pictures from her last class. I didn't want to distract them by using the flash which is why they are a little blurry. It was so cute because Mia would always talk about her Arabesque (I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right). This is probably the best one we saw her do all session!

Flowers

Lance brought home a bouquet of flowers for me a few weeks ago and the lasted forever and just got more beautiful as the bloomed, so in the spirit of my photography class, I tried taking some pictures of the flowers from a different angle rather than just them in the vase!

Silver Beach

We planned one big beach trip this Summer in the beginning of August. We had gotten a group of about 5 five families to come with us, and had been planning this for about a month and we were SO excited. We usually go up to Michigan City but had decided instead this year to go to Silver Beach. Its a little further North, but supposed to be much cleaner than Michigan City. Everything went perfectly EXCEPT for the weather! It was actually pretty cold the day we went. Of course we decide to go on the ONE cool weekend in August. Actually the kids didn't seem to mind and had a blast anyway. We weren't really able to go in the water at all because there was a pretty strong rip current but we blew up our beach toys anyway and played with them on the sand. And Maddi was just cracking me up, because she LOVED the sand. She has been becoming my fearless child the older she gets. She had absolutely no fear of anything. She will purposely dunk herself in the pool, climb on and try and jump off anything, and while at the beach she kept putting her head FACE DOWN in the sand and just rubbing her face all over the sand. She didn't care that it was getting in her eyes or anything! What a funny girl. The first picture says it all!

Photography Class

I took a photography class this Summer that was offered as one of our enrichment groups. The lady from our ward who taught it, takes time out of her schedule to do it at no cost to anyone in the class and it was a great experience for me. A lot of work, and time, but a lot of fun. These are some of the pictures I used in the "Art Show" we had to display our work. The first two pictures of Mia and Maddi are the ones I chose to frame.
