Fourth of July

Add caption

So excited to have Daddy back with us after a long week at Scout Camp!

You can tell by those little pink cheeks that THEY enjoyed a few good hours at the pool.

4th of July one of my MOST favorite holidays was somewhat haphazard and less planned than normal. (Having a baby the month before kind of excuses us a bit...right?!!) We enjoyed the ward 4th of July breakfast in the morning...swimming at the pool in the afternoon, and then I think Lance and I were seriously at the store at 4:00 in the evening getting stuff for our little bar-b-que dinner. All went great but Mia was concerned that we didn't have our traditional American Flag themed cake. She expressed this concern AFTER our 4:00 in the evening grocery store run so... she improvised with a few ingredients we suggested to her that we had on hand and she came up with this beautiful American Flag Cake all on her own. I think she had cut up some leftover angel food cake and covered the pan with it, spread whipped cream on the top, and used licorice and chocolate chips for the stars and stripes. Love the Creativity!

 Ready for the Fireworks Show!!!

Hanging out while we wait for the fireworks to start

Macee was amazed/slightly over-stimulated by all the fireworks! Her eyes were huge and unblinking the whole time and then she immediately crashed on the walk home.
I always take a MILLION fireworks shots that never actually look as good as the real deal so I limited myself to just one picture this time. haha...there you have it.

6 am in our house

Typical morning moment for us over the summer....why...why....why won't they sleep in?!!! Good thing they're cute and we love them! :)

End of June

Cute sisters reading together at bedtime with their little reading light. I wish I could have gotten a better shot with my camera b/c it was so cute in person!
While Grandma Tresa was visiting we got to celebrate her birthday right before she leftt!
 First Smiles
One Month Photo Shoot. I managed to get a good one but...
...we did take quite a few of these...this is how she REALLY felt about our photo shoot. :) And as I side note, I haven't quite figured out how to turn my pictures around...oh well.
 American Girl Doll Store!!!
A treat for ALL 5 of us. Lance went to Scout Camp for a week at the end of June so it was just us girls for 6 days straight. We planned lots and lots of outings to help us get through the week and the American Girl Store was our first stop. :)
 Hand Mitts-
In her second month Macee spent  A LOT of time with those cute little hands covered up so she wouldn't scratch herself. She was very happy when we saved her from herself! haha
 Macee's first day of church!

Macee's Life at home Month 1

Loves to be swaddled
Definately wins the award for being the BEST sleeper of all the Nelson girls!
One of Macee's favorite things at one month was to stare at the Blinds in our house. She was always facinated by them.

First bath in the tub!
Putting up with being the "doll" of the family. :)

Getting all dressed up by Big Sister.
Getting to be the show and tell item in Mia's class before school got out for the summer.

Getting a nap in with Daddy when she has a free moment.
Celebrating Father's Day! Trying to take this picture was probably NOT one of Macee's most favorite moments. :)
Surprise!!!
 Happy Father's Day

Mom is kind of a big deal in her life!
 First Beach Trip.
It was pretty windy but Macee hung out under the nursing cover up and thought the beach was great. :)

 Little Sand Monsters!
