March 2013 Mia and Ella's Birthdays

Let the Birthday Celebrations Begin....

In our house Mia, Ella and Maddi's birthday's all fall within about 3 weeks so we do "Friend Parties" every other year to cut down on the craziness. This year was a "Family Party" year and each of the girls got to pick something they wanted to do. It was nice to spend time together as a family doing fun things!

Birthday Dinner
Mia always chooses Meat Loaf and some form of potatoes and salad. This year cheesy scalloped potatoes. :)

Mia doing a Family Home Evening Lesson on Baptism as the Gate into the path that leads to Eternal Life. She was learning about this as she prepared for her baptism in April.

Can't Believe she is 8!
We love our Mia. We love her energetic spirit. Her confidence and passion for everything in life. We love her positive attitude and hardworking ways. We love listening to her sing, watching her dance, and reading with her. Such a wonderful big sister and such a blessing to our family.

We were able to throw a Temple Trip in with Mia and Ella's Birthday Celebrations. Here are the girls sleeping at the Temple Apartments.

Mia wanted to go to the American Girl Store for her Birthday.

On our way out of town to celebrate Mia's Birthday we celebrated Ella's first at Sky High. It cracked me up when we arrived at Sky High and saw Ella's choice of shoes! Mismatched flip flops, in different sizes, and both left feet! She's notorious for wearing her shoes on the wrong feet but this was a whole new twist!

So much fun!

Temple Trip in LA part way through. Going to visit the temple is one of their most favorite things!

Maddi saved her money so she could get her Doll's ears pierced at the AG store.

American Girl Tea Party. So fun!

Getting her ears pierced!
Mia had been asking us about this for the last year (up till then the idea of something poking holes in her ears was not at all enticing!) and we told her we wanted to make sure she could take care of them herself so we surprised her with his on her Birthday. :)

She seemed VERY nervous!

Ella's Birthday!
4 yrs old. :)
We love Ella's Joyful little spirit. We love her desire to be BIG and her passion for learning new things. We love the energy she puts into anything she tries. We love her sweet prayers.  We love her big hugs, her tender heart, and her determination.

Pasta Palooza February 2013

Pasta Palooza is a fundraiser they have for the girls' school where they have dinner, performance, cake walk, silent auction etc.  I think the highlight for all of us was winning a raffle prize of 4 McDonalds meals, and 4 passes to Sky High after we randomly threw our extra tickets in the raffle on our way out the door! We later used these to celebrate on Ella's Birthday. :) She was thrilled and so were we....you gotta love a free Birthday celebration!

Natural History Museum and Aquarium February 2013

Mia had a school field trip to Museum of Natural History and was so inspired by everything she saw that she was dying to go back and show us all so we spent a Saturday there and at the Aquarium.

Petting a shark

Natural History Museum. They had an awesome outdoor area where you could race sticks down a stream, or build dams. They also had huge pole-like sticks that they made into a Tepee shape but the kids were allowed to take it apart and use them to make anything they wanted.

Macee!

My girls found a way to make a see-saw out of the sticks.

Blue Whale Skeleton

We get some of our best beach days in January. It's always a great pick-me-up after the holiday fun is over. This particular day was especially great for the beach but we didn't get done with all our Museum stuff until after dinner so we stopped by one of our favorite beaches on the way home for a few minutes to get some pictures of the sunset!
