Maxwell Arthur Nelson May 14th 2015 First Month

Super Excited to have a Baby!

fWe were really hoping that this baby would come a week or two early so we could stay on schedule with making it to the girls' dance recital! LOL He was sweet enough to oblige and came right around 38 weeks! I woke up in the morning having contractions and by the time I got showered and dressed and Lance got the girls ready for school I knew it was time to go to the hospital. We kissed the kids goodbye, Grandma took them to school and we headed off for the hospital. Once they realized I was in labor they checked me right in and then things moved along somewhat slowly for the next couple hours. Lance and I watched t.v., he took care of work stuff, I did some online shopping for dance tights for the girls in between contractions and finally about 1pm the Doctor came and said we should probably break my water to speed things up. I consented reluctantly knowing things would get much more painful (I was still hoping to do no epidural but really dreading the pain, LOL). I think they broke my water at 1 and he was born at 1:50 so it wasn't too long but I was def. asking for the epidural at the end. At 1:50pm little Maxwell Arthur entered the world at 6 lbs 15 oz. He came out with tons of dark hair and sucking his little finger. I couldn't get enough of the cuddle time with him right afterwards. Truly a Heavenly Moment.

Not too excited about his bath

One Week Old
Took this pic while he was just sleeping in my lap.

One week old and starting to see more of those eyes!

Babies holding Babies
The first few days/weeks Macee wasn't overly interested in this little guy, just kind of ignored him!
Gradually her started to get more interesting to her. LOL

2 week check up at the doctors office

All dressed up! He was so skinny!!

First precious moments

From the beginning he was much more content if his hands were near his face.

Macee and Ella got to hang out with us at the hosptial the next day while the girls were at school.

Max had a special hospital visitor

Ready to go home!

Such a helper

Maddi was so excited to start a flower garden last summer!
She went with Lance to a nursery and learned about drought resistant plants.

Ella finally had a reason to like half-day Kindergartern...she got a head start and first in line for baby holding!
A year later as I post this she is still one of my best helpers with Max!
