She loves me...She loves me NOT!

A conversation Mia and I had the other day:

Mom: "Don't forget to shut the door sweetie"
Mia: "I'm not Sweetie!"
Mom: "Oh yes you are...you are MY Sweetie"
Mia: "No I'm Daddy's Sweetie because I love him"
Mom: "Well do you love Mommy?"
Mia: "Yes I love you when Daddy gets out of bed in the morning to get in the shower and I cuddle up to you because I'm cold"
Mom: "So Basically you love me whenever Daddy is not around?"
Mia: "Yep"

Prayer

In our house these days anytime we are about to have a prayer we have more then enough volunteers to say it. Between Mia and Maddi, Lance and I have to battle it out in order to get a turn. Today at lunch after we had a prayer first from Mia and THEN from Maddi, Mia asked me, "Mom when do you say the prayer?" I said, "Well I say it sometimes at dinner and at bedtime" and she said "Well me and Maddi and Daddy say it sometimes but when do you say it?" (I think she was worried that I hadn't gotten my turn) so I told her that I get to say the prayer at bedtime with Daddy and then in the mornings by myself and then I sometimes say prayers when I need help with something. Well then she wanted to know what kinds of things I need help with and so I told her "I need help to be a good Mom, and I need help with Young Womens, and I need help to be a good preschool teacher, etc etc." She was really interested to know what kinds of "problems" I might have in each of these categories. We talked for awhile about different things I can get help with from Heavenly Father and then she started telling me about her primary class and how she can get help in primary and at the end of the conversation she said, "Mom I think you and me have problems!" I had to laugh but I told her, "You know...you might be right. :)"

How did you do that?!!!

The other day I left Maddi in her highchair to eat a snack but she kept asking me to unbuckle her, just so she could redo the buckle herself. I finally went in and undid the buckle, leaving her in the highchair which was sitting ON a chair at the table and went to my room to finish working on something. A few minutes later I heard Maddi calling for me to let her out and I knew she must have redone the buckle again but I figured I'd just let her hang out for a second while I finished what I was doing. She kept calling for me and I kept saying, "I'll be there in a second". Then I heard the sound of the highchair banging against something (the chair I figured) and so I headed back to the kitchen and found Maddi still strapped into the highchair but the highchair was now ON the floor a few feet away from the chair I left her in! Somehow she managed to get herself AND the highchair off the kitchen chair while still strapped in. I think with her accident record I was more surprised that she didn't have a major injury in the process! Who knows. :)

Flower Girls

For those who don't know my Little Sister Jill is engaged! We are so excited for her wedding at the end of June. We got an awesome deal on some cute flower girl dresses for some of the nieces. When the package arrived Mia was very excited about it and when we took out the dress she was asking me why she would be wearing it at the wedding and what her "job" would be. Since "flower girl" in a temple wedding is more of a formality then an actual job I told her that her job would be to wear this beautiful dress and to smile really nicely for the pictures. So when I took these pictures I was laughing to myself at how hard Mia was trying to do her "best smile". We hope you approve Aunt Jilly. :) As far as Maddi and her cheesy little smile goes...this is the best you're gonna get. :) And just excuse our awesome hairdos.

Camping Out!

I can't believe it's only the beginning of March and I'm able to post this! So today was just a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL day. I just couldn't get over it and I just happened to have a really great day with my girls which made it even better. I was dreading today because I had to get up and make sure the house was in order for a home inspection we had from 12-2 (which meant I also had to be out of the house for 3 hours with the girls right during our normal nap time) and then plan for a showing that evening right during dinner. BUT actually all the things I had to plan around made my day go really smooth. The house was clean by 11 and we took off for some free play time at Malones (the local Gymnastics Gym) then made a quick stop at the bank, then McDonalds (my bribe for the day), then we decided with the weather being so nice and no toys at our McDonalds that we would have a little picnic at the park and play on the toys afterwards. Well the weather was in the 60s which was just awesome and we had a blast playing at the park and got home right around 2 and then ALL three of us took naps (in our house that had been cleaned and left untouched all day....how often does that happen!) When everyone woke up around 4:30pm we had about an hour till our next house showing and Lance returning home from work so we had a quick snack did a quick run through on the house and headed outside where it seemed that the entire neighborhood was out playing....so fun! The girls rode their bikes and had fun seeing their friends and then Lance and Justin decided that this would be the perfect weather for a Camp Out. Seeing as how my girls had slept until 4 and 4:30 in the evening this was actually the perfect plan since there would be no way they'd be ready for a 7:00 bedtime. So we started the night off at our house with hot dogs and smores, and then the boys and all of the girls except for Maddi headed back to the Henrie's house to see how much sleep they could get with 5 people in a tent! The girls were So So excited. The Dads were excited and also very curious to see how long it would take for the all the girls to fall asleep, and I was anxiously awaiting my free night in my own comfortable bed! We all made bets about how long they would all last. I said if it wasn't going well, I would expect Lance and Mia home by midnight/1am. It's now just past midnight so things can't be going too badly! This is actually Mia's VERY first camping experience. :)

Dinner Theater

Each year our ward does a Dinner Theater/Youth Fundraiser where they raise money for Girls Camp/Scout Camp. It's always a huge sucess and lots and lots of work! This year the theme was a highschool reunion with the class of 84. In our "waiting area" one of the Young Women leaders did an awesome job creating this "Photo Area" where she had a bunch of 80's clothing that people could dress up in and have their picture taken. We had some of the Young Women take pictures of the guests and then we took their email addresses so we could email them out to everyone. Lance and Justin had to fly solo the night they attended since I had to be "working" at the dinner theater and poor Dani (Justin's wife) was still on bed rest, so they decided to be each other's dates. :) I was able to sneak away for a minute to get a quick pic with Lance. I'm not sure I look really 80's but the brown wig was fun!

Fun with the Camera

Mia has been really into TAKING pictures lately and we've been giving her a little more freedom with this, however she will never tire of POSING for pictures either. And honestly I have NO idea where she comes up with this stuff. It must be innate. :)

Rough Week to be ALMOST 2

Does it surprise you to see a Bandaid on poor Maddi's little face? Well if so...maybe you haven't read any of our previous entries on our little accident prone child! I think Maddi decided that our life was just not exciting enough and she felt like spicing things up last week. So in true Maddi Fashion last Monday morning, while Lance was on his way out the door to take both girls with him to the grocery store (being the nice husband that he is and trying to give me a little break for the morning) Maddi while running through the house (like normal) and then falling (like normal) had an unfortunate encounter with a tera cota pot, and her face! The pot as well as Maddi's little face both suffered some damage. So change of plans and we ALL headed off to the ER for the morning where she got stitched up and on her way back home. She handled everything pretty well even the bandaid above her eye but unfortunately for her that was not the end of her exciting week. After Preschool on Tuesday I realized that the little "cold symptoms" she had were getting worse so Wed. Morning I took her to the doctor where they told us that she had bronchitis. So some more medicine and a few INCREDBILY cranky days later she is back to her usual self and we are all happy! :)

Valentines Day

Valentines Day was interesting this year and fast paced! Lance and I actually got a babysitter and went to a Movie before Valentines Day which was so fun and he surprised me with gift certificate to get a "Pregnancy Massage" at Spa. I have never had a professional massage before so this was a fun surprise. Valentines Day I think we spent the early hours of the morning getting the house ready for yet another showing (the joys of selling your house!) and then headed off to a Young Women's Saturday Morning activity where we were working on decorations for our upcoming Dinner Theater Fundraiser. When this was over we returned home for naps, received the good news that we were not needed as drivers to the Youth's Valentines Dance which was 2 hours away (this was our families original Valentines agenda) and then reconfirmed our date night plans to watch our friend's little girls that night for a couple hours which gave us a chance to do something fun with our girls. It ended up being a fun night. The girls were SO excited to see their friends and it was truly a "GIRLS VALENTINES NIGHT" complete with the sweets, the Valentines cards, the dressing up, and the Chic Flick (Ariel's New Beginnings for this crowd).

Pregnancy in Progress

With both Mia and Madelynn's Pregnancies I was really good about taking pictures month by month to see the belly progress but with this pregnancy I just keep forgetting (that or the days that I am actually "picture ready" are few and far between) but needless to say here is my latest belly update! This was probably at 26 or 27 weeks I can't completely remember off the top of my head right now. :)
