Hawaii May 2013

10 Year Anniversary trip to Hawaii and Happy Birthday to Me

We've been planning this for many years and it was so fun to actually do it! I had never been to Hawaii before (and have ALWAYS wanted to go) and Lance hadn't been back since he spent a year there at BYU- Hawaii (which is where we fell in love with Surfing) so it was a great fit for us. We decided to go over memorial weekend because my Mom was in town and was good timing all around because we got back the day before my Birthday. I couldn't think of a better birthday celebration. It was funny because Lance did most of the trip planning while I organized everything for the girls so we could be gone for 5 days. There was so much to do beforehand that I didn't know a lot of the details of the actual trip (kind of felt like we were just dating again!) But anyway when we got on the plane I didn't even know how long the flight was and when Lance told me 5 1/2 hours I couldn't believe that I would get to sit in once place for 5 1/2 hours without having to do anything! Is it sad that that was super exciting to me?! It's all about perspective!  We stayed in Laie and did all the touristy stuff but one of my favorite things we did was explore some of the other beaches along the North Shore that aren't as well known.

Laie Temple

Mossumotos Shaved Ice

We go to the beach quite often living in California but getting to sit and read a book on the beach...well  that never happens so this was another exciting thing for me! haha

Driving in from the airport!

Souvenir for the girls

The Sand was very different on the beaches here than the ones in California.

On our way to church!
Sitting in Sacrament meeting without children was a whole new experience!

At Turtle Bay after dinner. We were trying to take a picture of the water but it was super windy and there was this huge spotlight we were standing in front of so all you get is our crazy faces!

Polynesian Cultural Center. Another Super fun thing we did!

Hiking

I loved seeing all the green. Not sure why it surprised me to see that but it did!

At the PCC

Beautiful!
