Little House on the Prairie Night

Right before Christmas we had a "Little House on the Prairie" Night with our friends the Henries. Both of our families had been reading the books so we thought it would be fun for the kids to get together and celebrate. My girls have just LOVED the Little House books and "Playing Laura and Mary" is a frequent occurrence at our house. I love the books too because of all the good lessons and principals it's taught my kids as well as myself!
At our "Celebration" we let the kids go on a "bead" hunt (Laura and Mary did this when they were living in Indian Territory) and then they all made necklaces out of the beads. They helped make butter, and they learned to finger crochet. Very Fun!

My little "Laura and Mary"...Ella (aka. Baby Carrie) was also here but was too busy playing with Brian to make it into any of the pictures. :)

My friend Dani made homemade butter with the girls and let them taste the butter milk afterwords....I think Maddi actually really like it.
