I love when I can combine my love of being a Mom with my love of Art and Teaching.
Doing Joyschool with Macee and her cute little friends and Teaching Artist of the Month lessons at the girls' school allows me to do this!
We learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar in February for joyschoo and made our own caterpillars out of egg cartons. Macee always loves any chance to paint and Joyschool is a great time for me to allow her to do this without the whole house being destroyed! Love watching them create!
Here are three different months of Art that I taught at the school. The Gumball machine was for Ella's class when I taught them about Wayne Thiebaud who was became famous by painting cakes, and candy. So fun! The second one was when we learned about Jackson Pollock and his splatter paintings. We used a cool technique where you roll marbles across a paper that has globs of paint on it in different colors. the results where beautiful! One of my all time favorites. In Mia's 4th grade class her teacher liked the art work so much that we created a blanket out of the images of each child's splatter painting and put it on our basket for the auction. At the end of the year we made another copy of the blanket to give to her teacher as a gift from the kids. The last one was our Picasson inspired self portraits. Always a fun thing.
